The Town Twinning Association's evening of German beer, pretzels and song in the Tannery, Gilesgate, Hexham took place on Wednesday 22nd October. Music was provided by members of Hexham Village Band who had been practising German tunes for the evening, including the 'Lorelei', from a German legend of a siren on a rock in the River Rhine, who lured sailors to their death with her enchanting song.

David Oliver, the band's leader, (seen here) provided verses in German and English so everyone could follow and join in the choruses. Publicans Connor and Angela Millican had decorated the pub with the German, Bavarian, Northumberland and Union Flags.
